Hawaii: Help us support SB 252, improve SB 317, and defeat HB 1243!
SB 252 is a good bill that would legalize the sale of hemp food products, but it is in need of a few technical amendments. SB 317 would create manufacturing and labeling requirements for hemp products and would prohibit selling hemp products to persons under 21.
HB 1243 would also create manufacturing and labeling requirements for hemp products and would prohibit selling hemp products to persons under 21. Worse, it would prohibit the sale of hemp food products, limit the forms of other consumable hemp products, and revert the definition of hemp to the 2014 Farm Bill’s definition.
We sent letters to the sponsors of SB 252 and SB 317, urging that they make important changes to the bills. Please use our portal to encourage other Hawaii lawmakers to support amended versions of SB 252 and SB 317. However, if the age restriction in SB 317 is not removed, please ask your legislators to oppose the bill.
HB 1243 must be defeated. Please use our portal to encourage Hawaii lawmakers to oppose the bill.
Our portal makes it super easy. Once you input your zip code, the appropriate email or state petition will populate—with your legislators already identified and an editable message prepared. With a simple click of the button, they will hear your voice loud and clear.
