Urge Your Members of Congress to Support Our Troops’ Access to CBD
Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Defense quietly adopted a policy that criminalizes the use of hemp products by U.S. military personnel. Four military branches already had their own restrictive policies on CBD. On July 20, the U.S. House of Representatives approved an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to allow service members to use products containing hemp, including CBD. Unfortunately, the amendment was not included in the Senate’s version of the NDAA, which passed on July 23.
The battle, however, is not over. The NDAA now moves to the conference committee process, where differences between the House and Senate versions will be negotiated over the next several days. If the House amendment is included in the final conference version, it will be poised to become law.
Please use our portal to urge your Members of Congress to ask the House/Senate conferees to accept language allowing the use of hemp products by U.S. military personnel. Our portal makes it super easy. Once you input your zip code, the appropriate email will populate—with your Representatives and Senators’ offices already identified and an editable message prepared. With a simple click of the button, your members of Congress will hear your voice loud and clear.
