Montana is considering a really bad bill.  SB 381 would add a unique 4% gross sales tax on hemp-derived CBD retailers. That tax would wreak economic havoc on CBD retailers and is likely to get passed on to consumers. The bill would also prohibit the sale of hemp-derived CBD products to individuals under 18 years old. Only two other states include age restrictions on CBD products and those states struggle to enforce those restrictions because they must divert resources and attention from real health issues or criminal activity.
