BREAKING: Congress Sends Hemp Extension to the President

The House of Representatives has passed the Continuing Resolution 370 -48 with the one-month hemp extension intact, sending the bill to the President’s desk.

This means Congress has now approved an extension of the impending federal hemp ban from November 12 to December 11, giving our industry critical additional time to continue working toward a responsible, long-term federal regulatory framework.

This victory belongs to all of us.

Over the past several weeks, the hemp community showed up in an extraordinary way. You sent emails and made phone calls. You shared action alerts with your networks. You contacted lawmakers, told your stories, signed letters, and made sure Congress understood what was at stake for farmers, small businesses, manufacturers, retailers, consumers, veterans, and families across the country.

Your advocacy mattered.

At several points during this process, the hemp extension faced real challenges. But our community continued to speak up, and today, Congress has sent the extension to the President’s desk.

We are incredibly grateful to every person and organization that answered the call and helped us reach this point.

Of course, our work is not finished. This extension gives us one additional month, and we intend to make every day count. We will continue working with lawmakers and stakeholders to advance a comprehensive federal framework that protects consumers, prevents youth access to intoxicating products, provides certainty for farmers and businesses, and preserves access to lawful hemp products.

There is significant work ahead, but today is a day to celebrate what we accomplished together.
