Ohio Legislature Considering Harmful Hemp Restrictions After Governor’s Ban Attempt. Act Now!

The Ohio legislature is reacting quickly to Governor DeWine’s efforts to ban hemp products. While we have been successful thus far in court against his Executive Order, the General Assembly is now considering new language to regulate our industry which would severely restrict access to many hemp products now sold at retail.
While details are still being worked out, the legislature is moving very fast and may vote this week on harmful regulations. They are considering banning sales of many products now found in places like health food markets, groceries, and CBD stores and limiting sales to a small number of newly created “hemp dispensaries.”
We urge you to contact your state legislator today and tell them how important it is to your business and your customers to maintain broad retail access to hemp products in Ohio.
Limiting access in this manner could be just as harmful to our industry as a flat out ban, potentially devastating the hemp market while closing stores and causing permanent harm to our customers.
