Political Support Grows for Permanent Hemp Legislation!
Hemp’s momentum continues to build… As you are probably aware, Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles has been a longtime friend of hemp, building an outstanding state hemp pilot program that has served as a model for the nation. You may not be aware that Commissioner Quarles also serves as the President of Ag America, a national organization of Republican state agriculture commissioners and directors, as well as state legislators dedicated to agricultural progress.
Yesterday, Commissioner Quarles sent out a letter to Ag America’s membership, urging this important group to solicit the support of their Members of Congress for the Hemp Farming Act of 2018, which would permanently legalize hemp and hemp products. As you can imagine, this influential association of elected and appointed officials have the ear of the representatives in Washington, particularly on agriculture-related issues.
The U.S. Hemp Roundtable looks forward to working with Ag America leaders – as well as other groups across the political spectrum – to secure passage of this essential legislation. Of course, there is no one more influential than you. Please use the button below to access our easy-to-use portal to contact your U.S. Senators and Congressman today.
