Today, we’re proud to share an update on our sister organization, the U.S. Hemp Authority, from its President, Marielle Weintraub.
On March 1, we shared with you the big news: the U.S. Hemp Authority™ announced the first awards of its Certification Seal to thirteen outstanding companies that met the stringent standards the industry laid out for quality assurance and safety. While this was an exciting landmark, we are only beginning our journey to promote high standards, best practices and self-regulation for hemp growers, processors and product sellers. Last year, many Hemp Supporters answered our call to help us develop industry standards in what we termed Guidance Plan 1.0 – our first attempt to demonstrate the industry’s professionalism and to promote confidence among consumers that hemp products are safe, and among government officials that hemp products meet legal standards. We need your help again. It’s time for Guidance Plan 2.0. Starting this month, we are asking all Hemp Supporters – farmers, processors, manufacturers, product sellers, retailers and consumers – to weigh in on how we can make our Guidance Plan even stronger – how we can make the US Hemp Authority™ Certification Seal an even prouder symbol of safety and legality.
