U.S. HEMP ROUNDTABLE HONORS “FRIENDS OF HEMP”(Cynthiana, KY: June 9, 2018): The U.S Hemp Roundtable, the industry’s leading national business association – representing more than 30 companies and national organizations from across the U.S. – honored today five Kentucky elected officials for their stewardship of the industry. Roundtable President Brian Furnish, an eight-generation Harrison County farmer, presented “Friends of Hemp” plaques at today’s Kentucky Hemp Days in Cynthiana to the following individuals for their tireless leadership on behalf of launching the industry:

U.S. Congressman Andy Barr

U.S. Congressman Thomas Massie

Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles

State House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins

Former State Representative Tom McKee Plaques had previously been awarded in Washington ceremonies to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, U.S. Senator Rand Paul and U.S. Representative James Comer. “While the ‘Friend of Hemp’ designation is a national recognition, it is fitting that there are so many awardees from Kentucky,” stated Furnish. “Kentucky was the heart of hemp country in the first centuries of our country, and it is poised to lead again, thanks to the incredible bipartisan support we have had in Frankfort and Washington from our elected officials.” For more information on the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, please check out hempsupporter.com
