Updates in CA & NC

It’s a short update this week, as most state legislatures have either adjourned for the year or recessed for the summer.

California

We recently reported that the California Department of Health’s emergency regulations for the manufacture and sale of hemp products were approved and are effective. The final emergency regulations are now posted online.

North Carolina

In North Carolina, the Governor signed HB 252, the bill that modifies the controlled substances exception for THCs in hemp. As modified, the exception applies to THCs in a product that does not exceed 0.3% delta-9 THC, not to THCs “found in hemp or hemp products.”
