The USHA is an independent, self-regulated organization (SRO) that was originally formed in 2017 to give consumers and retailers confidence in hemp and CBD products by ensuring quality standards and best practices. In 2019, Prevention Magazine selected USHA for one of its Health Breakthrough Awards and named as part of ten major medical innovations of that year. Certified products and brands can boast the USHA seal of approval on labels and promotional materials, signaling safety and quality. Specifically, consumers and retailers can rest assured that USHA certified companies adhere to rigorous requirements for:

  • Quality Management Systems
  • ISO Quality Standards
  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Federal Regulations

In February, the USHA announced its new partnership with Perry Johnson Registrars Food Safety, Inc., a globally accredited certification body for numerous ISO and Food Safety Standards, including cannabis and hemp, to serve as USHA’s program manager and act as a third-party certification body to ensure that USHA’s licensees are meeting the highest levels of quality and safety in their products.
