PAST BILL

Help us override the veto of SB 39!

PASSED June 26, 2021

SB 39 explicitly authorizes the production, sale, and use of CBD products added to conventional food if the product is packaged, contains no more than 25mg of CBD per serving, and is not marketed to children. The bill also allows adding CBD to alcoholic beverages if the beverages are not marketed to children. And the bill allows the sale of registered hemp flower products that meet certain labeling and packaging requirements to those 21 and older. Unfortunately, Utah Governor Spencer Cox vetoed SB 39, which passed with large majorities in both chambers. The legislature has adjourned, but it can reconvene with a two-thirds’ majority to override the Governor’s veto.

Please use our portal to encourage Utah lawmakers to reconvene to override the Governor’s veto of SB 39. Our portal makes it super easy. Once you input your zip code, the appropriate email or state petition will populate—with your legislators already identified and an editable message prepared. With a simple click of the button, they will hear your voice loud and clear.

Even if you do not hail from Utah, please share this page with your friends, colleagues, customers, and social media contacts in the state. Help us build our Hemp Supporter armies to assist us in these battles, which have a national impact.
