PAST BILL

Urge Lawmakers in Wyoming to Support Hemp!

PASSED February 17, 2020

In July 2018, Wyoming state and local law enforcement began informing Jackson grocers they must remove all CBD products from their shelves. They did not arrest anyone. However, a woman driving through Jackson was arrested for an unrelated driving issue, and a felony charge was added for possession of a CBD product. The prosecutor later dropped the charges against the woman, but warned he may prosecute these cases in the future. Such actions chill commerce and prevent Wyoming citizens from benefiting from popular health and wellness products enjoyed by citizens in many other states.

Fortunately, the Wyoming Governor just signed an important bill to fix this problem! HB 171 protects possession and use of hemp-derived CBD products. Now the state must submit its plan to the USDA and promulgate regulations for the program.
