PAST BILL
2024: SB 495, Banning Out-of-State Products (Opposed)
PASSED August 02, 2024
SB 495 would have required that hemp products sold at retail be distributed by a Consumable Food Manufacturing Distributor (CFMD). This restriction would have effectively banned out-of-state products, since a CFMD must have a licensed facility in Louisiana. The bill also would have banned CBD and full-spectrum products by prohibiting consumable hemp products from containing any THC.
The bill did not make it out of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development.
