PAST BILL

Help Amend SB 591!

PASSED April 15, 2023

SB 591 was initially intended to crack down on intoxicating compounds masquerading as hemp. Unfortunately, the Governor’s substituted version adds a 21-or-older age restriction for non-intoxicating hemp extracts that contain any amount THC. Age restrictions such as this send an inaccurate and inappropriate message to consumers: that these safe health and wellness products are dangerous or should be associated with a vice of some sort.

Please use our portal to urge lawmakers to vote no on SB 591 unless the age restriction is removed from the bill. Our portal makes it super easy. Once you input your zip code, the appropriate email or state petition will populate—with your legislators’ office already identified and an editable message prepared. With a simple click of the button, lawmakers will hear your voice loud and clear.

Even if you do not hail from Virginia, please share this page with your friends, colleagues, customers, and social media contacts in the state. Help us build our Hemp Supporter armies to assist us in these battles, which have a national impact.
