North Carolina: Tell Lawmakers to Vote NO on the Hemp Ban

North Carolina is considering dangerous hemp language that could wipe out more than 95% of hemp products currently sold in the state. Lawmakers are currently adjourned and set to return on July 27, when HB 328 could be taken up by the House. The Senate has already adopted the HB 328 conference report, so House members need to hear from North Carolina residents now. Tell your representative to reject this harmful language and vote NO to protect the state’s hemp industry, small businesses, farmers, jobs, and consumers.

The HB 328 conference report includes language that aligns with the pending federal hemp ban by imposing the unworkable 0.4mg total THC per container limit and broadly restricting hemp-derived cannabinoid products. If passed, this language would effectively prohibit 95% of currently legal hemp products in North Carolina- Including non-intoxicating full-spectrum CBD products. This is a huge threat to small businesses, farmers, manufacturers, retailers, jobs, and consumers who rely on these products in the state.

The hemp industry supports commonsense regulation, including age limits, product testing, labeling standards, and enforcement against bad actors. But prohibition is not the answer.

North Carolina residents: Contact your House member now and urge them to vote NO on the HB 328 conference report.
