Urge Governor Ige to Sign HB 1819!
Recently, the Hawaiian legislature passed HB 1819, a bill which legalizes the growth of hemp through the USDA’s program, and explicitly permits the sale of hemp-derived products such as CBD as dietary supplements.
The bill isn’t perfect: It does not permit the sale of CBD in food and beverages, and some local farmers have shared concerns about buffer zone requirements. But it is a major step forward in a state where the health agency had proclaimed the sale of all hemp ingestibles as illegal. The next step is the desk of the Governor, who has vetoed previous hemp legislation.
