Help Ensure That ALL Hemp Farmers and Businesses are Eligible for Stimulus Dollars!
The CARES Act became law on March 27. It provides more than $2.2 trillion in desperately needed economic relief in response to COVID-19. However, there has been confusion about which relief programs U.S. hemp farmers and businesses qualify for. The Small Business Administration has stated that hemp farmers and businesses are ineligible for the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. And at least one state office of USDA’s Farm Service Agency is suggesting that only hemp farmers operating under the 2018 Farm Bill are eligible for commodity loans available from the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC). Neither of these conditions were intended in the CARES Act, as noted recently by more than 80 members of Congress and other advocacy organizations.
Without clarification, tens of thousands of American hemp farmers and hemp businesses will be left without critical economic assistance. While the virus is not impacting every American equally, it has not skipped over America’s hemp farmers and businesses, many of which are essential to food, health, and well-being supply chains.
Please use our portal to urge the White House to clarify that ALL hemp farmers and businesses are eligible for the EIDL program and may receive commodity loans from the CCC. Our portal makes it super easy. Once you input the requested information, you will be able to send the prepared message. With a simple click of the button, the White House will hear your voice loud and clear.
